Discussion with SCC

Southampton City Council are seeking carers opinions to inform the future commissioning plans for the Adult Carers Support Service. We have invited them along to talk at our carers lunch on Wednesday 22nd May 2024 12.30-14.30pm. This will allow you to provide feedback and ideas – which is important when shaping and developing the service.

Lunch and Carers’ Back Up Plan

After a talk and discussion from SCC we will have some lunch, and if you wish, one of our friendly team will help you fill in a Carers back up Plan.

We are aware that putting a plan in place, should you be temporarily or permanently unavailable can be daunting! We are also aware that the previous emergency plan template we offered was too long and complex. Having talked to carers we have changed the name to Carers’ Back Up Plan and have made the form much more user friendly.
If you care for someone completing this form is a great way to ensure that a plan is in place to put your mind at ease.
This can be stored wherever you wish to keep it, but we can add it to Southampton City Council’s records so that Social Care, hospital, health and emergency services can access it. If you don’t want the Council to hold these details, we can put an alert on the system to say where your plan can be found, eg in the Lions’ “message in a bottle” in your fridge where emergency services would look for it.
